Charles Franklin "Chubby" Cavins, 65, Rose Hill, Va., died Jan. 5, 2003, at his nephew's home.

Formerly of Harlan, Cavins lived in Lee County, Va., for over 30 years. He was a believer in the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert D. and Laura J. Cavins; one brother, R.C. Cavins; and two sisters: Irene Smith and America Sharp.

Survivors include 10 nieces and six nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Rose Hill, Va.

Graveside services will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at the First Haven Cemetery in Keith.

Arney-Mullins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
