A fire damaged a Harlan apartment building near the Fairview community Sunday evening. No one was injured in the blaze that emerged from apartment No. 2 at 401 May Street.
The fire was isolated to only one of the building's two apartments, said Harlan Fire Chief Linette Hutchison.
She said damage to the apartment was severe. Eight firefighters extinguished the main body of the fire in about 15 minutes, said Hutchison.
She said the fire's cause is still under investigation.
Building owner Greg Thomas said Monica Kirksey was the apartment's tenant.
