A native of Wenona, Ill., she was a registered nurse who began her career in Chicago before moving to Benham where she helped her husband in home deliveries before the construction of the Benham Hospital. Later, she taught health and hygiene at SECC and was public health administrator for the Harlan County Health Department.
She was a member of the Benham United Methodist Church, the Harlan County Medical Auxiliary and an active supporter of school and youth activities in the area.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Wilhelmina Pomeranke Uebler; a sister, Beatrice Uebler Koenig; a brother, Frederick Uebler and daughter, Mary Schosser.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Milo Schosser, Benham; and four children: Dr. Robert Schosser and wife, Judy, Lexington; Linda Johnson and husband, Judge Ron Johnson, Cumberland; James Schosser and wife, Robin, Louisville; and John Schosser, Benham; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Dr. Erika Schosser, Lexington; Matthew Schosser, Lexington; Timothy Schosser, Lexington; Amy Johnson and husband, David Webb, Louisville; Tom Johnson and fiancee, Becky Wagner, Nicholasville; Hillery Harlow and husband, Chuck and daughter, Hadley, Louisville; Andrew Schosser, Louisville; Brooke Schosser, Tampa, Fla; and David Schosser, Tampa, Fla.
Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Tri-City Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Benham United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barry Leonard officiating.
Pallbearers will include Timothy Schosser, Matthew Schosser, Tom Johnson, Jimmy Dale Hensley, Bill Hodges and Marcus Ely.
Burial will follow in the Benham Cemetery.
