He believed in the Holiness faith.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Snobie Middleton; and a brother, James Lee Middleton.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Middleton, Tazewell, Tenn.; his father, Johnny Middleton, Verda; five children: Jacqualine Elaine Canady, Harlan; Cindy Lynn Lane, Julie Ann Middleton, Amy Michelle Middleton and Rachel May, all of Tazewell, Tenn.; three brothers: Jerry Walter Middleton, Verda; Henry Otis Middleton, Verda; and Kerry Middleton, Tazewell, Tenn.; four sisters: Anna Belle McQueen and husband, Earl, Lejunior; Flossie Smith and husband, Gil, Somerset; Jessie Anita Perry and husband, Perry, Tazewell, Tenn.; and Doshia Fannie Riddle, Verda; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is at Johnny Middleton's home in Verda after 10 a.m. on Sunday.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at Middleton's home with the Rev. Gary Grubbs officiating.
Burial will follow in the Turner Cemetery in Verda.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Evarts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
