"That was a hit that we needed at that time," Corbin coach Jeff Garmon said.
"It got us going offensively. That was big of him right there, to get a pinch hit and drive in two runs. That's senior leadership, and that was a senior stepping up and making something happen."
With the game tied 1-1, Sam Jenkins led off the third inning with a double. With two outs in the inning, Cawood got four straight singles, including RBI singles by Corey Daniels, Jake Napier and Mikey Hensley, to take a 4-1 lead.
Corbin's Hobe Watkins led off the bottom of the third by reaching on an error. Following two flyouts, Jake McDaniel reached base by getting hit by the pitch, setting the stage for Kenny Kysar and Blanchard.
Kysar singled in Watkins and Blanchard's bloop between shortstop and center field scored McDaniel and Kysar to tie the game.
Leading 6-4 going into the bottom of the fifth, Corbin put the game away by plating six runs off four hits.
The big blow came off the bat of Travis Lawson, whose two-run double scored Jake Mahan and Watkins to give Corbin a 12-5 lead.
Cawood added two runs in the top off the seventh, including a Kevin Howard home run over the left field fence, to close out the scoring.
The 6-7-8-9 batters collected five of Corbin's 10 hits in the game and also scored six runs.
"When they do that, we'll score some runs," Garmon said.
"Those first four or five guys have done a pretty good job all year long of hitting the baseball and they've carried the majority of the load. If that bottom of the lineup will ever get going like it did today, then we'll have a chance to put 12, 13 or 14 runs up."
Mahan improved to 3-0 on the season as he gave up four runs, three earned, in four innings of work. Watkins pitched three innings of relief for the save.
Hensley (3-4) took the loss for Cawood.
Blanchard led Corbin at the plate, going 2-2 with two RBI. Kysar went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Cawood was led by Howard, who went 3-for-4 with a homer.
