Lois Scott, 74, Dione, died May 15, 2004 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.

A native of Benham, she was the owner of the Dione Market. She was a member of Totz Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Bessie Ratliff Jones; a daughter, Tana Sue Williams; five brothers: Dewey Jones, Hugh Jones, Bill Jones, Lester Paul Jones and Ronald Bart Jones; and a sister, Opal Cuzzart.

Survivors include her husband, Ed Scott, Dione; four children: Bessie Parker and husband, Chuck, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; Melba Yates, Dyersburg, Tenn.; John Scott, Dione; and Bill Scott and wife, Jill, Lynch; two sisters, Dora Hatfield, Cumberland, and Hazel Joyce, Cumberland; seven grandchildren: Charlie Parker, Tana Parker, Andrea Scott Hudson, Johnny Scott, Will Scott, Matthew Stacey and Steve Cornett; and a great-grandson, Brayden Lee Hudson.

Visitation will be at the Tri-City Funeral Home today between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at Tri-City Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Homer Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at Peaceful Acres Cemetery in Cumberland.

Pallbearers will be Jim Scott, Leroy Scott, David Jones, Joseph Jones, Ronnie Jones, Chris Hogue and Clark Morris.

Tri-City Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
