A veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy, North believed in the Christian faith and was a member of the old Baxter Church of Christ.
North also attended the Loyall Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elvin North and Verna Smith North Minton; his sisters: Elsie Jean North and Lois North Ensor; a brother, Elvin "Bubber" North.
Survivors include a brother-in-law, Jim Ensor, Nebraska; a nephew, Keith Ensor and wife, Lori, Nebraska; a niece, Verna North Frankfield, Pennsylvania; a great-nieces, Kristin and Chelsea Ensor; a great nephew, Carson Frankfield; and a host of friends and other relatives.
Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Anderson & Laws Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Tracy Marx officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Full military honors will be observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
