John D. Cook, 73, Lejunior, died Aug. 23, 2004, at his home.

A native of Harlan, he had been an electrician for many years and taught at the Harlan County Vocational School. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and believed in the Protestant faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Cook Sr. and Alice King Cook; his twin brother, Roscoe Cook; and another brother, William Cook Jr.

Survivors include three sisters: Nell Fuson, Ohio; Eva Hopp, Indiana; and Jean Utacht, Ohio; a special cousin, Virginia Brown; and a host of nephews.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Moore officiating.

Burial will follow in the Kelly Cemetery at Lejunior with military rites performed by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Evarts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
