He was a former coal miner for Verda Coal Corporation and former sales manager of McComb's Supply Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Middleton and Sallie Clem Middleton; a daughter, Doxie Lynn Miniard; a son-in-law, Arthur Miniard; and two brothers: Edward Allen Middleton and Andrew Jackson "A.J." Middleton.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Bussell Middleton, Dayhoit; a grandson, Timothy Allen Miniard and wife, Tracie, Lexington; three great-grandchildren: Brittany Lynn Miniard, Timothy Allen Miniard Jr. and Haley Dawn Miniard; a sister, Evelyn Turner and husband, James, Harlan; a brother, Rex Middleton and wife, Bobbie, Montgomery, Ala.; a former granddaughter-in-law, Renee Sullivan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation is Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Harlan Funeral Home. Scottish Rite services will be observed during visitation.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Harlan Funeral Home with the Rev. John D. Lambert and the Rev. Paul White officiating.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery. Masonic rites will be performed at the cemetery.

Elizabeth Vanover
Elizabeth Faye Romans Vanover, 74, Corbin, died Sept. 24, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington
A native of Harlan County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Mary Helen United Methodist Church, Harlan and the Church of Nazarene in Corbin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Romans and Elizabeth Parsley Romans; her husband, George Edward Vanover; a brother, Drewey Romans; and a sister, Eudell Romans.
Survivors include a son, Charles Edward Vanover, Corbin; three daughters: Vickie Vanover Cook and husband, Gary, Berea; Vera Vanover Spurlock and husband, Wayne, Lily; and Vivian Vanover Faulkner and husband, David, Morrow, Ohio; a special friend, Brenda Wagers, Corbin; a brother, Fred Romans, Courtland, N.Y.; two sisters: Doris Hubbs, Harlan; and Mae Romans Suchy, Corbin; four grandchildren: Eddie Cook, Liza Faulkner, Samuel Faulkner and Joshua Spurlock; special grandchildren: Kimberly McHargue and Derek McHargue; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Corbin Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Corbin Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Landis and the Rev. Lonnie Storms officiating.
Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
