He is preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Maudie Carr Jones; a stepmother, Bertha Bledsoe Jones; four brothers: George Jones, J.B. Jones, Simon Jones and Harold Jones; and two sisters: Dorothy Jones Ramsey and Edna Jones Gilbert.

He is survived by his wife, America Jones, Dayhoit; five children: Kenneth Ray Jones, Dayhoit; Shirleen Simpson, Dayhoit; Elmer and wife, Janis Jones, Harlan; David Jones, Dayhoit; and Jeanette and husband, Elzo Johnson, Rhea; one brother, Willard and wife, Faye Jones, Harlan; three sisters: Beluah Maggard, Wallins; Nora Lee Stewart, Dayhoit; and Thelma and husband, Olan Branson, Harlan; three grandchildren: Kenneth R. and wife, Tabitha Jones; America and husband, John Alred; and Shelia Helton; five great-grandchildren: Daniel Jones, Anthony North, Kendra North, Keeley North and Curtis Helton; and two special friends: Ben and Lisa Turner.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Rich Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Duff officiating.

Burial will follow in Harlan County Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
