A native of Jellico, Tenn., she was a retired secretary and travel agent with many years of service.

She was a member of the Harlan Christian Church where she had been church pianist and Sunday School teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Delyn Russell and Zora Price; and her husbands, Charles Bassett and Charles (Skeeter) Cawood.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Cawood Parsons and husband, Don, Woodland Hills; three stepchildren: Betty Bruton, Joann Campbell and husband, Dr. Peter Campbell, all of Louisville; and Bobby Bassett and wife, Elaine, Somerset; three grandchildren: Ginger Parsons Parks and husband, David; Donna Parsons and husband Dwyne Wilkerson; and Curtis Scott Cawood Parsons and wife, Jennifer; four step-grandchildren: Whitney Campbell, Peter Campbell, Ian Bruton and McCauley Bruton; four great-grandchildren: Drew and Tanner Parks, and Connor and Sean Wilkerson; two sisters: Lillian Hicks and husband, Ray, California; and Beverly Beisner and husband, Billy and several other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Harlan Christian Church.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Charles Morris officiating.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.

Scott Parsons, David Parks, Dwyne Wilkerson, Rick Fox, Mike King and Garry Henson Jr. will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Bassett, Dr. Peter Campbell, Forno Cawood and Hap Cawood.
