A native and lifelong resident of Harlan County, he was a retired coal miner for several coal mines in Harlan, and a member of Pathfork Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn Taylor and Bertha Smith Taylor; eight brothers: Oscar Taylor, Hobert Taylor, Walter Taylor, Tillman Taylor, Enoch Taylor, Harvey Taylor, Leroy Taylor and Paris Taylor; and one sister, Reethy Morris.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Snellings Taylor, Pathfork; five children: Peggy Hubbard, London; Marcy Bruner and husband, Rick, London; Ed Wright and wife, Gabrielle, Barbourville; Nancy Hensley and husband, Raymond, Cincinnati, and Shawn Taylor, Pathfork; two brothers: Jack Taylor, Ohio; and Henry Taylor, Ohio; one sister, America Inman, Tennessee; seven grandchildren: Raymond Hensley Jr., Edward Wright Jr., Emily Wright, Kali Wright, Tracy Cornett, Jonathan Hubbard and Nikki Church; three great grandchildren: Jessi Steward, Maklaya Cornett and Noah Cornett.

Visitation is at 6 p.m. today at Pathfork Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Everett Eads and the Rev. Robert Lee officiating.

Burial will follow in Alva Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
