Jimmy J. Bright, 33, of Cawood, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree trafficking a controlled substance (first offense).
According to a press release from the sheriff's department, deputies conducted an investigation at Bright's home after receiving complaints that drugs were being sold from the residence. While searching the home, deputies made a discovery of 126 40 milligram Oxycontin pills.
Deputies said the pills have a street value of over $7,500. Bright was transported to the sheriff's office and processed, and then was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center. Bright faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted of the charge.
Detective John Teagle was the arresting officer. He was assisted by deputy Miron Southerland.
Teagle said this is the third major drug arrest in less than three months, and he added that the department is going to continue the war on drugs in Harlan County.

n Benny D. Burchfield, 32, of Loyall, was arrested on Monday and charged with alcohol intoxication and disorderly conduct.
n Rebecca Lorene Hammonds, 20, of Harlan, was arrested on Monday and charged with DUI (first offense under 21), license plate not legible, no insurance and no registration receipt.
n Byrd Lee Smith, 22, of Cawood, was arrested on Monday and charged with alcohol intoxication.
n Michael D. Taylor, 18, of Baxter, was arrested on Monday and charged with careless driving, DUI-D (second offense), failure to wear a seat belt, no insurance and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license.
n Earl Wayne Williams, 25, of Dayhoit, was arrested on Monday and charged with reckless driving.
