The Cumberland Lady Skins surrendered a total of two hits as they swept a doubleheader against visiting Barbourville on Tuesday.
Senior Dawn Metcalf (8-3) fired a complete-game one-hitter in the first game as the Lady Skins rolled to an 8-1 victory. Metcalf struck out eight and walked three.
Metcalf also paced Cumberland at the plate with a double and a single. Lindsay Collier added a pair of singles, and Stacy Houser, Jessica Creech and Amber Glover each singled once.
Metcalf and Kalyn Carruba (1-0) combined to hold the Lady Tigers to one hit as Cumberland won the second game 7-0.
The senior ace also fueled the Lady Skins offensively in the nightcap with three singles. Natasha Pennington added a double and a single, and Houser doubled. Samantha Sexton, Shay Yaden, Ashley Fields and Carruba each added singles.
Cumberland (9-4) returns to action Thursday at home against Knox Central.
