Joe Aslinger, 79, Gravis, Ohio, formerly of Nolansburg, died May 11, 2005, at Reed Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Ind., following a short illness.

He was a retired coal miner and member of the Berean Baptist Church of Middletown, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Aslinger; his parents, Aaron and Caroline Braden Aslinger; four brothers: Henry Aslinger, New River, Tenn; and Kale, Jim and Isaac Aslinger, all of Lake City, Tenn.; and one great-grandchild, Blake Grill of Eaton, Ohio.

He is survived by a daughter, Betty Pope and husband, Dale, Gravis, Ohio; two sisters, Ellen Jeffers, Clinton, Tenn., and Peggy Wilson, Cleveland, Ohio; two grandchildren, Chrissy Grill, Eaton, Ohio and Dale Pope, Fairborn, Ohio; five great-grandchildren: Joshua and Kayla Grill, Eaton, Ohio; and Daelyn, Dylan and Coltyn Pope, Fairborn, Ohio.

Visitation will be Saturday, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Tri City Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Tri-City Funeral Home with the Rev Daniel Philpot of the Berean Baptist Church in Middletown, Ohio, officiating.

Interment will follow in the D.L. Creech Cemetery at Cumberland.

Tri-City Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
