A native of Hyden, he was a former coal miner, enjoyed hunting and playing horseshoes and was affiliated with the Lower Middlefork Pentecostal Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Mossie Collett Hoskins; one daughter, Jennie Hoskins; two brothers: Robert "Bobby Hoskins and Roger Hoskins; and one sister, Hanna Mae Asher.

Survivors include one son, Gary Wayne Hoskins, London; two daughters: Jennifer Angel, London; and Kristen Leann Collett; one brother: Lee Hoskins, Essie; four sisters: Eunice Hoskins, Bledsoe; Gracie Gross, Bledsoe; Armilda Smith, Tazewell, Tenn.; and Rose Ann Brock, Bledsoe; three grandchildren: Brandon Hoskins; Brently Hoskins and Nicholas Angle; special friend, Wanda Chappel; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Friday at noon at the Bowens Creek United Baptist Church of Essie with the Rev. LeRoy BlackBurn, Teddy Collett, Eugene Roberts and Taylor Adams officiating.

Burial followed in the Collett Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tony Hoskins, Cleveland Nolan, Jeff Hoskins, Denver Lee Brock, Kevin Hoskins, Bobby Nolan and Sylvester Nolan.

Dwayne Walker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
