Mona Pauline Davis Carter, 78, York, S.C., formerly of Baxter, died July 29, 2005, at the Piedmont Medical Center.

A native of Woodbine, she worked for Woody's Market for 35 years and believed in the Church of God faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe Lee Davis and Rosa Lee Farmer Davis; and her husband, Hobert Edward Carter.

Survivors include two daughters: Pamela Susan Rhodes, York, S.C.; and Joyce Elaine Carter, Toledo, Ohio; one brother, Jack W. Davis, Indianapolis, Ind.; three sisters: Anna Lee Martin, Harlan; Wilma Bennett, Cohsochton, Ohio; and Sylvia Greene, Scottsburg, Ind.; three grandchildren: Jennifer D. Irwin, Toledo, Ohio; John D. Irwin, Lutz, Fla.; and Jay L. McCauley, York, S.C.; three great-grandchildren: Laurin Trost, Toledo, Ohio; Kati Lyn Trost, Toledo, Ohio; and Hunter J. McCauley, York, S.C.; several other friends and relatives.

Visitation is today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. Brenda Davis officiating.

Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.

Mount Pleasant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
