Ralph Ramsey Jr., 60, Harlan, died Aug. 13, 2005, at his home.

He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran, a member of Howard Masonic Lodge 819, and a disabled coal miner of Arch Mineral Coal Company.

Ramsey was a lifelong resident of Harlan County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Novara Pace Ramsey.

Survivors include three children: Terry Ramsey and wife, Linda, Putney; Charles Ramsey and wife, Tasha; and Rodney Ramsey, all of Gulston; one brother, Wayne Ramsey and wife, Wanda, Harlan; one sister, Judy Biechler, Powell, Tenn.; three grandchildren: Megan Ramsey, Caleb Ramsey and Kaitlyn Ramsey; a special friend, Linda Bargo; and good friends, Hal and Debbie Hatfield and their children.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Rich Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Josh Hensley and the Rev. Gary Craig officiating.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

Hal Hatfield, Jeff Ramsey, Johnny Prince, Curtis Russell, Bob Owens and Tom Allen will serve as pallbearers.

Rich Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
