Virna Walker, 84, died Sept. 3, 2005, at the Christian Care Communities in Corbin.

She was born July 29, 1921, in Harlan. She was the daughter of the late John Farmer and Pearlie Ledford Farmer.

Walker was a homemaker and a member of the Grays Knob Church of God in Harlan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Clarence Walker; a son, Alfred Walker; two brothers, Fred and Lester Farmer; and six sisters: Cassie Weaver; Roxy Jones; Thelma Fee; Nancy King; Mallie Pace; and Alice Farmer.

She is survived by three sons: Paul Walker and wife, Ann, Harlan; the Rev. Herschel Walker and wife, Doris, Corbin; and Carliss Walker, Corbin; two sisters, Ellsie Stanton, Harlan; and Ella Roberts, Battle Creek, Mich.; two brothers; Olan and Howard Farmer, both of Harlan; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation was held Sunday at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Corbin; and at the Grays Knob Church of God.

Funeral services will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at the Grays Knob Church of God with Pastor Don Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
