Minnie Ruth Saylor, 61, Molus, died Sept. 7, 2005, after a long battle with cancer.

A native of Harlan, she was a dedicated employee of the Harlan County Board of Education with 43 years of service. She was also a member of the Harlan Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Helen Ward Saylor; a sister, Ada Lou Saylor; and three brothers: Jack, Morris and Clark Saylor.

Survivors include two children: Terri McCurry and husband, Tom, Harlan; and Charles Michael Saylor and wife, Lisa, Richmond; grandchildren: Bradley, Lauren and Jacob McCurry, all of Harlan; and Savannah and Aaron Saylor, both of Richmond; a sister, Gladys Hatfield and husband, Bill, Harlan; three brothers: Ted Saylor and wife, Barbara, Molus; Carl Saylor and wife, Cinda, Molus; and George Saylor and wife, Sue, Molus; a best friend, Wanda Burkhart and husband, David, Ages; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Morris officiating.

Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.

Tom McCurry, Brad McCurry, David Burkhart, Jeff Phillips, William Hatfield and Hal Hatfield will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be elders of the Harlan Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Harlan Christian Church.

Mount Pleasant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
