Lewis Blevins, 78, Louisville, died Oct. 2, 2005, at his residence.

A native of Dizney, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired assembly worker for Kentucky Manufacturing Company. He believed in the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie Neff and Ransom Blevins; a sister, Patsy Blevins Creech; two brothers: Edgar and Hubert Blevins; and a grandson, David Blevins.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Georgia Pauline Cloud Blevins, Louisville; two sons: Curtis Blevins and wife, Sandra, Ohio; and Jimmy Blevins, Louisville; a brother, James Blevins, and wife, Nola, Indiana; and a grandson, Jeremy Blevins.

Funeral services will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at the Locust Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul White officiating.

Burial will follow in Evarts Memorial Gardens with military rites performed by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Evarts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
