Latham-less Harlan falls to Clay in rout

Without Kendra Latham on Friday, Harlan coach Chuck Mitchell knew he had a tough task ahead against the region's top team.

"You've got to play five players, regardless of who's out there. I saw a lot of good things without her, but we don't know how soon she's going to be back. It's still not determined yet."

The senior center missed the game for disciplinary reasons, and the Clay County Lady Tigers took advantage in rolling to an 81-36 victory.

Clay County outrebounded the Lady Dragons 35-19. Harlan committed 36 turnovers, compared to 15 for the Lady Tigers.

Page Jackson, a junior guard, and Jayme Gilbert, a senior guard, powered Clay County with 14 points each. Mariah Aubrey and Gemma Gray followed with 11 points apiece.
