Lina Kathryn Boggs, 94, Cumberland, died Dec. 16, 2005, at Britthaven of the Tri-Cities following a long illness.

A native of Letcher County, Boggs had been a resident of Harlan County for over 75 years. She was a homemaker and worked as a sales clerk at Scott's Department Store in Cumberland for many years. She was also a member of the Poor Fork Old Regular Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry and Susanna Day Sumpter; her husband, Essie Boggs; three sons: Billy Vern Boggs, Charles Bruce Boggs and James Darrell Boggs; and a sister, Callie Sturgill.

She is survived by two sons, Bob Boggs and wife, Sarah, Monticello; and Arthur David Gross and wife, Shelia, Somerset; three daughters-in-laws, Marlene Boggs and Yvonne Boggs Deal, Cumberland; and Judy Boggs, Richlands, Va.; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held today after 10 a.m. at Tri-City Funeral Home

Funeral services will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Bob Yaden officiating.

Burial will follow in Peaceful Acres Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charles Boggs Jr., Greg Boggs, David Allen Gross, J.B. Childers, Eric Harman and Adam McKnight.

Tri-City Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
