The Dragons surrendered 17 runs, all of them unearned, in back-to-back losses as they fell to Madison Southern on Friday and to Perry Central on Thursday.
The Eagles used an eight-run explosion in the third inning to rout the Dragons 12-1 in five innings Friday.
Chase Jones (1-2) pitched three innings and suffered the loss on the mound. J.D. Heck worked the fourth.
Senior Jon Graham singled twice to lead Harlan at the plate. Josh Johnson and Heck added a double apiece, and Andrew Ditty and Shane Miller each singled.
The Dragons took defending 14th Region champion Perry Central to nine innings Thursday before falling 5-4.
Graham turned in a masterful eighth-inning performance, surrendering five hits while striking out 14. Jones came on in relief in the ninth inning and gave up the winning run on a wild pitch.
“We made mistakes, but we also made some really good defensive plays,” coach David Evans said. “That's the best-pitched game we've played in a while. Graham gave us plenty of chances to win the game. We were so close.”
Thomas Farrow went 4-for-4 with four singles to lead the Dragons' offensive attack. Heck tripled, and Johnson and Graham added a single apiece.
Harlan (4-4) will travel to Barbourville for the second round of the All “A” Classic on Tuesday. Both teams have first-round byes.

Games rained out
A series of thunderstorms resulted in the postponement or cancellation of several games involving county baseball and softball teams:
-- The Cumberland Redskins led host Pineville 9-0 in the fourth inning before the game was called due to lightning. It is not known whether the game will be resumed at a later date.
-- The Cawood Trojans were reportedly rained out of their two scheduled games in the Queen City Classic on Friday. Harlan was also scheduled to play Powell County in the tournament, but that game was also cancelled due to the weather.
-- The Cawood Trojanettes' game at Bell County was postponed due to lightning in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Trojanettes fell behind 2-1 in the bottom of the third before rallying to tie the game in the top of the fourth. A lightning strike near the field as Bell warmed up in the middle of the inning resulted in a delay, and the game was ultimately postponed.
The game will be resumed at a later date.
-- The Cumberland Lady Skins led Evarts 16-2 when their game was postponed in the third inning. The game will be continued Thursday at Cumberland at 5 p.m. and will be followed by another district game between the two teams.
-- The Harlan Lady Dragons' game at Lynn Camp was called off as well. The game will be made up from the beginning as part of a doubleheader at Harlan next month.
