A native of Lynch, he had lived in the Tri-Cities area all of his life. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Blair Chapel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Doris Gilliam Fields; his parents, David Grant and Nancy Ann Jackson Fields; a brother, Paul Fields; and a sister, Myrtle Hogg.
Survivors include two children: Delina Parrott and husband, Spiz, Cumberland; and Terry Tyree and wife, Kristen, Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren: Brandy Lynn Parrott, Cumberland; Duke Parrott and wife, Terri, Cumberland; and Zachary Parrott, Cumberland; one brother, Woodrow Fields and wife, Barbara, Benham; two sisters: Ruby Hatfield and husband, Jack, Benham; and Lillie North, Valparaiso, Ind.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Tri-City Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Elder Woodrow Fields officiating.
Burial will follow in Charlie Maggard Cemetery in Blair.
Jeff Hatfield, Mark Hatfield, Dennis Pennington, Shelby Gene Fields, Mitchell Fields and Matthew Brackett will serve as pallbearers.
