A native of Cumberland, he was a member of the Totz Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Clarence H. and Carrie Ellen Fields Johnson; two brothers: Raymond and Larry Glen Johnson; and two sisters: Mona Lee Clark and Helen Ruth Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Ellan Mae Boyd Johnson, Cumberland; three children: Jason Dale Johnson and Reba Ellen Johnson, both of Cumberland; and Cristy Michelle Gilliam, Dione; a granddaughter, Makayla Ann Gilliam, Dione; one brother, the Rev. Homer E. Johnson and wife, Regina, Nolansburg; eight sisters: Monette Gheesling and husband, Sam, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; Lorna Howard and husband, L.C., Harlan; Ethel Stanifer and husband, William, Hamilton, Ohio; Iva Willis and husband, Darrell, Hamilton, Ohio; Florine Gill and husband, Jack, Hamilton, Ohio; Mary Johnson, Hamilton, Ohio; Reba Burnette and husband, Robert, Hamilton, Ohio; and Wilma Lucken and husband, Geoffrey, Fairfield, Ohio; and two aunts: Remah Johnson, Cumberland; and Anna Pauline Davis, Hamilton, Ohio.
Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Tri-City Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Matthew E. Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in Cornett Cemetery.
Morgan Blair, Delbert Blair, Michael Boyd, David Shepherd, David Hill, Harry Cornett and John Lewis will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the American Heart Association or Totz Missionary Baptist Church.
