Born in Lynch, Ray was a member of the Cumberland Methodist Church and was a retired coal miner for U.S. Steel and Arch Coal Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy B. and Blanche Boyd Ray.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy Cornett Ray, Cumberland; a daughter, Caryn Pate, Georgetown; and a sister, Janice Gray, Dayton, Ohio; two grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
Visitation was held Sunday at Cumberland Valley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin today at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Chuck Spice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Peaceful Acres Cemetery at Hiram. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Cumberland Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
