The following cases have been heard in Harlan District Court, Judge William McCaslin presiding.

Laraine Chaffin, 28, theft by deception (under $300) - failed to appear for hearing (bond set at $500 cash).

Raychel A. North, 22, first-offense driving under the influence, third-degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense) - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set April 24.

Jacob E. Burgan, 26, third-degree criminal trespassing - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set May 1.

Gabriel Carmical, 29, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), use or possession of drug paraphernalia (first offense) - continued for arraignment.

Lorene Lewis, 47, third-degree terroristic threatening - dismissed at request of complaining party.

Bobby W. Eldridge, 64, first-offense driving under the influence, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, expired or no registration plate, controlled substance prescription not in original container (first offense), failure to notify address change to the transportation department, obstructed vision and/or windshield - jury trial set May 1.

Jeff Bradley Cottrell, 21, possession of marijuana - pleaded guilty, fined $178.

Roy C. Deal, 33, harassment (no physical contact) - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set May 1.

John W. Deal, 45, harassment (no physical contact) - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set April 24.

Elmer E. Middleton, 43, public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol), theft by unlawful taking (under $300, shoplifting) - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set April 24.

Jeremy Brock, 29, failure to appear (citation for misdemeanor) - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set May 1 (ordered not to have any contact with complaining party).

Desa L. Blanton, 43, theft by deception (under $300) - failed to appear for hearing (bond set at $500 cash).

April Johnson, 32, license to be in possession, failure to wear seat belt, failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense) - continued for arraignment Sept. 18.

Hubert L. Hall Jr., 22, cultivation of marijuana (five plants or less, first offense) - pleaded guilty, fined $628 and sentenced to 12 months in jail (probated for 24 months).

Laraine Chaffin, 28, theft by deception (under $300) - failed to appear for hearing (bond set at $500 cash).

Raymond Fields, 49, alcohol intoxication in public (third offense or more within 12 months) - pleaded guilty, sentenced to one day in jail.

Debra A. Stevens, 43, public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol) - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set May 1.

Misty D. Swanner, 25, public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol) - pleaded guilty, fined $153.

Jacob E. Burgan, 26, harassment (physical contact with no injury), third-degree terroristic threatening - jury trial set May 1.

Richard Anglian, 39, alcohol intoxication in public, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set May 1.

Wilson R. Meade, 55, violation of having permit to operate required for places of entertainment - continued for arraignment Sept. 18.

Chris Huff, 25, third-degree terroristic threatening, third-degree criminal trespassing - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set May 1.

Jimmy D. Holbrook, 35, alcohol intoxication in public, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, third-degree terroristic threatening - continued for arraignment Sept. 11.

Wesley R. Tippett, 29, second-degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense) - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set May 1.

Roger L. Banks, 26, second-degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense) - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set May 1.

Robert Stewart, 49, operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operator's license - failed to appear for hearing (bond set at $500).

Juanita Olyene Maggard, 23, failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), failure to produce insurance card, no operator's/moped license - first five charges, continued for arraignment; other charge dismissed.

William F. Lucas, 25, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), failure to wear seat belt - failed to appear for hearing (bond set at $500).

David C. Cleaver, 19, no operator's/moped license, failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle - continued for arraignment Jan. 22.

Timothy A. Asbury, 25, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt - continued for arraignment Sept. 11.

Clarence W. Cox, 18, no operator's/moped license, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), expired or no Kentucky registration receipt - continued for arraignment.

Jason D. Fultz, 23, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle - continued for arraignment.

Theresa A. Westfelt, 41, license plate not illuminated, failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle, failure to notify address change to the transportation department, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance (first offense), failure to produce insurance card - continued for arraignment Oct. 16.

Roger K. Asher, 33, operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operator's license, failure to wear seat belt, failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/ security (first offense) - jury trial set May 1.

Jennifer D. Kirby, 28, disregarding traffic control device (traffic light), operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operator's license - first charge, pleaded guilty, fined $148; other charge dismissed on proof.

Brenda S. Reddington, 46, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure to produce insurance card, three counts of failure to wear seat belt - continued for arraignment Sept. 18.

James Beckham Engle II, 27, failure to wear seat belt, failure to produce insurance card - continued for arraignment.

Scotty D. Crider, 24, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), three counts of failure to wear seat belt - first charge, pleaded guilty, fined $628 ($400 suspended); other charge dismissed.

Mary L. Bargo, 18, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), three counts of failure to wear seat belt - continued for arraignment.

Antonio Simmons, 30, no operator's/moped license, failure to wear seat belt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/ security (first offense), expired or no Kentucky registration receipt - continued for arraignment.
