David “The Dog” White, 67, Teetersville, died Aug. 30, 2006, at Britthaven of the Tri-Cities.

A native of Lynch, he was a retired coal miner from U.S. Steel at Lynch. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and the Teetersville Baptist Church. He was also an active member of Harlan Masonic Lodge 879 F & AM, the Oleika Shrine Temple in Lexington and the Harlan County Shrine Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ollie Sturgill White; and a sister, Billie Howard.

Survivors include his wife, Lynette Perkins White, Teetersville; his son, David Michael White, Bowling Green; his sister, Betty Meeks and husband, Wilburn, Winchester; his aunt, Grace Lowe Johnson; special friends, Bill and Joann Thomas, Teetersville; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; and his Mason and Shriner friends.

Visitation is Saturday from 10 to 2 p.m. at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Billy Howell and the Rev. Gary Craig officiating.

Masonic rites will be observed following the funeral by Harlan Masonic Lodge 879 F & AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Teetersville Baptist Church or the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Lexington.
