A native of Harlan County, she was a resident of Corbin. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was also a member of Spruce Creek Living Waters Church in Corbin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Eugene and Maude Marie Tippett; and her sister, Brenda Sue Shackleford, Corbin.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Darrell W. Massengale, Corbin; two daughters: Eugenia “Jeanne” Humfleet and husband, Jerry, Corbin; and Sandra “Sandi” Lynch, Louisville; one brother, Jerry Tippett and wife, Wilma Tippett, Rockwood, Mich.; one brother-in-law, Jim Shackleford and wife, Abby, Corbin; five grandchildren: Jerry “Jay” Humfleet and wife, Melissa; Joshua Humfleet, Becky Humfleet, Heather Napier and Ashleigh Napier; one great-grandchild, Rachel Humfleet; three aunts: Edith Tippett, Cumberland; Beulah Kegley, Verda; and Lee Hensley, Verda; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home in Corbin.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Danny McCreary officiating.
Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Corbin.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
