Gladys Rains Baldwin, 75, Cumberland, died Dec. 21, 2006, at Britthaven of Tri-Cities.

A native of Lee County, Va., she had lived in Harlan County most of her life. She was a homemaker and believed in the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Presley and Mary Bloomer Rains; her husband, George E. Baldwin; two daughters: Joyce Eversole and Linda Turner; one son, Rick Baldwin; two grandchildren: Lisa Smith and Larry Franks; and two brothers: Carl Rains and Curtis Rains.

Survivors include five children: Freda Owens and husband, David, Cumberland; Betty Back and husband, Benny, Evarts; Mary Baldwin, Lynch; Gary Baldwin and wife, Della, Cumberland; and Bill Baldwin and wife, Lisa, Cumberland; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Tri-City Funeral Home in Benham.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Henry Hughes officiating.

Burial will follow in Sandhill Cemetery in Cumberland.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
