Bige Williams Sr., 76, Yeaddiss, died Dec. 26, 2006, at Hazard ARH Hospital.

A native of Leslie County, he had lived there all of his life. He was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA and attended the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ in Smilax.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie B. and Mary Blevins Williams; his wife, Lena Mae Harris Williams; a daughter, Wanda Faye Williams; a son, Paul Williams; and three sisters: Ethel Boggs, Lizza Maupins and Alafair Chapell.

Survivors include eight children: Marvin Williams and wife, Patricia, New Lebanon, Ohio; Elmer Williams and wife, Teresa, Trotwood, Ohio; Harold Williams and wife, Ann, McKee; Raymond Williams and wife, Sharon, Yeaddiss; Bige Williams Jr. and wife, Janice, Cookeville, Tenn.; David Williams, Cookeville, Tenn.; Pauline Templeton and husband, Damon, Berea; and Jeanette Taulbee and husband, William, Cookeville, Tenn.; two brothers: Robert Williams, Yeaddiss; and Foster Williams, Johnson City, Tenn.; five sisters: Oma Curry, Harlan; Callie Creech, Saint Clair, Mich.; Nancy Collette, Cumberland; Avil Witt, Bledsoe; and Polly Green, Speedwell, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ in Smilax.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow at Blevins Cemetery in Big Rock.

Gary Slagle, James Slagle, Jason Williams, Junior Cornett, Shawn Baker and Ronnie Cornett will serve as pallbearers.
