A native of Virginia, he was a member of the Elm Grove Missionary Baptist Church for 35 years and under the watch care of the Binghamtown Baptist Church for the past five years. He was a United Mine Worker and was a member of the Nolan Masonic Lodge #806 for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Creech Sr. and Maggie Caudill Creech; four sisters: Maude Jones, Lona Bewley, Dorothy Benton and Pauline Creech; and two brothers: Bill Creech and Leonard Creech.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Verna Creech, Middlesboro; two sons and daughters-in-law: Glenn and Aleene Creech, Lafollette, Tenn.; and Clyde and Bonita Creech, Middlesboro; two grandchildren: Glyna Stansfield and husband, Scott, Jacksboro, Tenn.; and Jason Creech and wife, Mandy, Middlesboro; one great-grandson, Parker Glenn Stansfield, Jacksboro, Tenn.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Creech Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Dr. William Boyd Bingham III and the Rev. Landon Lane officiating.
Music will be provided by Jimmy Jackson, Dickie Siler, Thomasa Risner, Dale Eldridge and the Elm Grove Missionary Baptist Church choir.
Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens.
Jason Creech, Scott Stansfield, Donnie Harris, Boyd Bingham, Hunter Bingham, John Conley Bingham, Ben Bingham and Nelson Bingham will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Huffman, David Chapman, Poe Chapman, Edwin Chapman, Lee Bolton, Tom Coyl, Walter Carroll and Dr. C.A. Moore.
Masonic rites will be given today at 6 p.m. by the Pinnacle Masonic Lodge #661 of Middlesboro.
