She was a member of Fonde Church of God. She was always concerned about her family and grandchildren. She loved to fish, cook and can. She was very active in church and community functions. She quilted for her family and was a very loving and caring person. She always put others before herself.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Elza Walters; a son, Luther Elza Walters; a daughter, Francis Ellen; her parents, Josiah and Josie Ellen Lambdin Leach; brothers: Luther, Claude, Charles, Jim and Harvey Leach; and sisters: Ida Partin, Eura Cooper, Dotsy Bell and Lucy Jane Leach.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Herbert Ray and Mary Walters, Harlan; sons: Gene Walters, LaFollette, Tenn.; Leo Wilburn Walters, Spartanburg, S.C.; and Jeff Walters, Eagan, Tenn.; daughters: Elizabeth Kay Branch, Louisville; and Dotsy Walters, Eagan, Tenn.; daughters and sons-in-law: Rita and Steven Burik, Richmond; Gloria and Robert Cosgrove, Louisville; and Kathy and Thomas Jones, Loudon; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Martin Wilson Chapel.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Lonnie Lyle and the Rev. Jody Moore officiating.
Burial will follow in Leach Lane Family Cemetery.
Martin Wilson Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
