A native of Mary Helen, he was a retired foreman for Georgia Pacific and former manager of McCullough Lumber Company in Appalachian, Va. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and had attended the Mary Helen Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Lee Jones and Myrtle Ramsey Jones; and his sister, Faye Jones Brock.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Smith Jones, Harlan; three brothers: Harry E. Jones; Robert E. "Bucky" Jones; and Earl Jones, all of Harlan; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation is Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Landis officiating.
Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery at Keith.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
