Charles Moss Hensley, 29, of Wallins, entered eternal rest on Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport from injuries received in an ATV accident.

He was a native of Harlan County and believed in the Pentecostal faith. Moss was a former coal miner for R.&B. Coal Company and worked many years for Crider Construction. He served as a firefighter with the Wallins Fire Department and loved the outdoors - hunting, fishing and four-wheeling.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Moss and Rinda Hensley; his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Velva Young, and George Thompson; two uncles, Gilbert Hensley and John Calvin Hensley; grandparents-in-law, Ray Thomas and Helen Mullins; and an uncle-in-law, Paul Anthony Mullins.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda, and son, Calvin Anthony; mother, Carol Wenzel and husband Doug; father, Charles "Chuck" Hensley and wife Birdie, all of Wallins; two sisters, Lorinda Posey and husband Ron, Evarts; and Francis Calton and husband David, Wallins; one brother, Albert Aure and companion Paige Campbell, Harrogate, TN; three step-sisters, Nicole Wenzel of Knoxville; Melissa Gilpin of Wallins; and Francis Watkins of Wallins; and one step-brother, Shelby Calton and wife Sherry, Wallins.

Also surviving are his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Melissa Thomas, Cawood; sister-in-law, April Manns and husband Jason, Wallins; as well as nieces and nephews: Ron and Savannah Posey, Evarts; Hannah, Chase, Kiya Calton, Britney, Brenda Brian, Renisha, Alisha, Jordan and Cadence of Wallins; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at Harlan Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Houston and the Rev. Joe Howard officiating.

Burial will follow at the Park Howard Cemetery at Wallins with friends and family serving as pallbearers. The Fireman's "Last Call" rites will be observed at the cemetery.

Harlan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
