She was a native of Balls Creek, West Virginia and lived in Cumberland for over 50 years. She was a homemaker and believed in the Methodist faith. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Richard and Bessie Mae Reedy Altizer; her husband, Stanley C. Goodwin; four brothers, Jack Altizer, Claude Altizer, Tom Altizer JR, and Samuel "Slick" Altizer; four sisters, Minny, Margaret, Mary and Boots; and one grandchild, Jonathan Goodwin.
She is survived by seven children, Bobby Goodwin of Somerset; Shirley Kisskalt and husband, Jack, of McComb, Michigan; Stan Goodwin and wife, Sharon of Anderson, Tennessee; Robert Goodwin and wife, Karen, of Jonesboro, Tennessee; Roberta Smith and husband, Willis, of Duncan, South Carolina; and Ranee' Swift of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Robin Dixon and husband, Jeff; Hogie Goodwin; Justin Goodwin; Judith Tyree DuBois and husband, Jim; R.C. Tyree; Jennifer Reed; Jeanene Castaneda and husband, Jose; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edward Altizer and wife, Nancy, of Tazewell, Va.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 PM today at Tri City Funeral Home in Benham.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 AM Thursday in the chapel of Tri City Funeral Home with Bob Yaden officiating.
Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Virginia.
Justin Goodwin, Hogie Goodwin, Hogan Goodwin, Jeff Dixon, Jim DuBois, and Jamie Smith will serve as pallbearers.
