He was born Dec. 21, 1933, in Clinchmore, Tenn. He was a former factory worker and believed in the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burgan and Susie Jones; a brother, Earl Jones; and one sister, Lois Jones.
Survivors include two daughters: Sherry Jones and Dewawn Jones; one sister, Louise Steele, of Kenvir; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 5, 2007, at 3 p.m. in the Evarts Memorial Gardens of Evarts.
Mount Pleasant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
