Rosspoint Elementary School recently won the 83rd District Governor's Cup competition, finishing with 68.5 points. Hall was second with 25 points, followed by Evarts with 23 and Black Mountain with 6.5.

Middlesboro won the Region 21 competition with 40.5 points, followed by Rosspoint with 27, Harlan with 20.5, Yellow Creek and Wallins with nine each, Page with seven, Right Fork and Evarts with five each and Cawood with one. Teams from Cumberland, Lone Jack, Bell Central and Hall also competed.
