Luverna Branson 81, of Rocky Face, Ga.; formerly of Rosspoint, Ky., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at the Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Ga.

She was born May 3, 1926 in Pennington Gap, Va. Mrs. Branson was a homemaker and believed in the Church of God faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Branson Jr.; her father, Vass Freeman; two brothers: Bobby and Eugene Freeman; two sisters: Liz Towell and Beatrice Baker; two children, one stepchild, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include her mother, Flora Freeman Rogers, of Harlan; 10 children: Pat Napier, of Woodberry, Tenn; Shelia Collins, of Rosspoint, Ky.; Kathy Caudill, of Baxter, Ky.; Glenna McKeehan, of Dalton, Ga.; Sherry Lowe, Ed Branson, Skip Branson, all of Rocky Face, Ga.; Robert Branson, of Dalton, Ga.; Terry Branson, of Chatsworth, Ga.; and Mike Branson, of Stanfill, Ky; 35 Grandchildren, 67 Great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; five brothers: Charles Freeman of Cincinnati, OH. Claude Freeman of Cincinnati, OH. Harry Freeman of Harlan, Ky. Ronnie Freeman of Baxter, Ky. Jerry Freeman of Baxter, Ky.; two sisters: Kyla Browning, of Closplint; and Barbara Shepherd, of Harlan; and several other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008 after 5 p.m. at the Church of the Living God of Baxter, Ky.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Living God of Baxter, Ky., with the Rev. Darrell Turner officiating.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith.

Pallbearers will be; Lonnie Collins, Freddie Branson, Jamie Collins, Billy Napier, Bobby Napier, Darrell Branson, Joey Branson, Jeffrey Branson and Shane Branson.
