Thelma Byrd Ellison, 94, of West Melbourne, Fla., died on March 30, 2008, at the West Melbourne Health Care Center.

She was a native of Williamsburg and was the daughter of Roscoe Byrd and Eva Harmon. She was a teacher and a librarian for over 40 years, having received her Master’s Degree from Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn. She lived in the Daytona Beach area for over 40 years.

Survivors include a niece, Mary Frank Thomson; and a nephew, Tom Wade.

Burial will take place in Harlan.

South Brevard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
