The daughter of J.P. Pennington of the band Exile, Jesse’s family is no stranger to Harlan County, her father’s band having played in our area numerous times. Featured of late in the Georgetown College musical “She Loves Me,” Jesse shared the stage with Ryland Pope and Haley Howard, both graduates of Harlan High School. Songs and staging from many musical works will be featured in this showcase of the Lyric Theatre Society: “Ragtime,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” “H.M.S. Pinafore,” “The Old Maid and the Thief,” “Little Women,” “Les Miserables,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Hansel and Gretel,” “Carousel” and “The Secret Garden.” Under the direction of Dr. Heather Hunnicutt, professor of Music at Georgetown College and a graduate of Indiana University School of Music, the show is a delight to behold, and inspiring to all who share a love of musical theatre and its power to inspire and motivate toward higher goals.
