A Sawbriar couple were arrested Wednesday on Harlan Circuit Court indictment warrants for various drug charges.

Harlan County sheriff’s Sgt. David Williams arrested Linda Sue Bowling, 57, and Michael Bowling, 54.

The Bowlings were charged with first- and second-degree trafficking a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This is not Michael Bowling’s first time facing criminal charges.

He was sentenced in 2006 in Harlan Circuit Court to two years in prison for first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer. A motion was entered by attorney Robert Thomas, on behalf of his client, for Bowling to receive probation due to medical conditions, which was denied.

Linda and Michael Bowling were lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center and later released on a $10,000 surety bond.
