Mrs. Combs was a native of Perry County and had lived in Cumberland most of her life before moving to Corbin, where she had lived for the past fourteen years. She was a retired cook and believed in the Pentecostal faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Combs; her parents, Monroe and Mallie Wells Coots; two brothers, Lloyd Coots and Elmer Coots; and three sisters, Janie Cody, Ollie Meeks, and Lula Caudill.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Combs, Corbin; Mary Finns, Benham; two brothers, Ernest Coots, Hickory, NC; Jim Coots, Chatsworth, GA; two sisters, Bertha Cody and Mary Stacy, both of Viper; two grandchildren, Amy Owens and Jason Finns; also, Bruce Warf, whom was loved like a grandchild; four great-grandchildren, Savannah Owens, Destiny Owens, Nicholas Finns, and Mary Kaylin Finns; and a host of friends, family and loved ones.
Visitation was held 5-9pm Friday, June 27, 2008 at Corbin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 4pm Saturday, June 28, 2008 in the Chapel at Corbin Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at Benham Cemetery in Benham.
