Regina Crusenberry Peace, 41, of Rio Vista, formerly of Closplint, passed away Friday, August 8, 2008 at St. Joseph East in Lexington following a long illness. Born June 19, 1967 in Lee County, Virginia, she had lived in Harlan County most of her life. She was a graduate of Evarts High School, had previously worked at Arby’s and was the former manager of Wendy’s. She believed in the Baptist faith.

Regina was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Crusenberry.

Survivors include her mother, Virginia Fields Crusenberry, Evarts; her former husband and the father of her children, Darrell Peace, Closplint; four children, Adam Lee Peace, Shawn Vinson Peace, Jacqueline Ilene Peace and Victoria Peace, all of Closplint; two sisters, Geneva Catron and husband, Danny, Rose Hill, VA; Linda Sergent and husband, Lloyd, Ages; and a brother Richard Lee Crusenberry, Evarts. Also surviving are special friends, Ray Doepel, Tammy Robinson and Snoden Lewis; a host of nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
