Mr. Wilhoit was born January 13, 1925 in Harlan, KY to the Late Dewey and Ruth Goins Wilhoit. Wallace was the former shop foreman at Fulton & Hart in Harlan for 20 years, before owning & operating the Ingles Service Station now known as Wilhoit’s Service Station at Lawnvale for 30 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served his country during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion for several years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Anita Blanton Wilhoit of Lawnvale; his children, Karen King and husband Brad of Pennington Gap, VA, Jimmy Wilhoit and wife Judy of Lawnvale, Kay Howard and husband Phillip of Loyall, Shirley Thompson of Lawnvale and Kim White and husband Larry of Loyall; one brother, Jerry Wilhoit and wife Patty of Annapolis, MD; one sister, Elenora Tolliver of Annapolis, MD; Nine Grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; he also leaves several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be Thursday September 11, 2008 from 6 until 8 at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 8:00 pm in the chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Larry White presiding.
Graveside services will be 10:00 am Friday September 12, 2008 at the Resthaven Cemetery, Keith, KY.
Military rites will be observed by the Harlan County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be the Harlan County Honor Guard.
