Larry Turner, 57, of Garrett, Ky., was born May 23, 1951 in Floyd County and passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.

Turner was a retired coal miner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fonzo and Geneva Smith Turner; three brothers: Ricky Turner, Gene Turner, Danny Darrell Turner; and a sister, Janet Taylor.

Survivors include his daughter, Angela King and husband, Teddy, of Cawood, KY; two brothers: Jeffery Murphy, of Garrett, KY; and Bobby Joe Turner, of Oklahoma City, OK; six sisters: Kathy Murphy, of Garrett, KY, Sandy Turner, Carol Baker, Lois Mavis and Helen Combs, all of Oklahoma City, OK, and Sula Noble, of Frankfort, Ohio; two grandchildren: Hailey and Amber King; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held after 6 p.m. Sunday at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin, Ky.

Funeral services will be conducted today (Sept. 29, 2008) at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Chuck Hall officiating.

Burial will follow in Turner Cemetery on Turkey Creek in Garrett, Ky.
