Police executed a search warrant Friday at a residence in Rio Vista where it is alleged that OxyContin pills and a quantity of cash were seized.

Harlan County sheriff’s narcotics Det. Jason Snelling arrested Boyd Ray Johnson, 30, and his father, Boyd Johnson, 57, both of Baxter. The Johnsons were charged with first-degree trafficking a controlled substance.

Sheriff Marvin Lipfird said OxyContin pills were found during the search of the Johnsons’ residence. He said neither of the men would claim the pills were theirs, so they were both charged with the offense of trafficking a controlled substance.

The Johnsons were lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center without bond.

Numerous deputies assisted in the search of the residence. Members of the sheriff’s Chaplains Corps were also on hand to assist.
