The song, which featured the late Jake Hess, is the group’s ninth No. 1 song according to the Singing News Magazine this month.
The talented trio, which consists of Roger and Debra Talley, and their daughter, Lauren, has also hit the top of the charts with songs including “The Broken Ones,” “The Debt,” “His Life For Mine,” “The Answer Is Christ,” “Searchin’,” “I Love The Lord,” “The Healer” and “Jesus Saves.”
The song, which jumped from No. 3, replaces Karen Peck & New River’s “Whispered Prayers.”
Southern gospel music has many great soloists and groups, but the Talley Trio and Karen Peck & New River are two of the hottest artists of today.
The remaining top 10 songs from the Singing News this month include “Reason Enough” by Ernie Haase & Signature Sound; “When God Ran” by The Kingsmen; “I Cast My Bread Upon The Water” by Gold City; “The Rose” by The Inspirations; “Whispered Prayers” by Karen Peck & New River; “The Past Is A Promise” by The Whisnants; “The Potter Knows The Clay” by The Perrys; “Jesus Made A Believer Out Of Me” by The Kingdom Heirs; and “I Believe God” by Brian Free & Assurance.
Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver’s “Eternity Has Two” made its debut at No. 29. Also marking its first appearance in the Top 80 is “He Never Sleeps” by Mark Bishop at No. 42; “Three Rugged Crosses” by The Freemans at No. 45; “I’ve Made Up My Mind” by The McKameys at No. 46 and “It’s Called Amazing Grace” by the Georgian’s Quartet at No. 50.
