Billy Ray Napier, 74, died March 20, 2012, at his home in Gate City, VA. Born April 29, 1937 in Verda, he was the son of the late Martha Ellen Hensley Napier and Ewell Vernon Napier. He was a talented musician and an avid outdoorsman. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by three brothers, Alec Napier, Robert Wheeler Napier and John Henry Napier.

Bill is survived by sons and daughters; brothers, Walter Wayne Napier and wife Jean of Jacksonville, FL; Kenneth Odell Napier of Lexington, KY, Lewis Vernon Napier of Corbin, KY, and sisters, Carma Rebecca (Reb) Peace of Evarts, KY and Lily Etta Sommers of Oliver Springs, TN.

A service, in memory of Bill, will be held at 1 pm Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Evarts Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. A private burial will follow.
